First of all, let’s get the bad news out of the way. Today I’m talking about something that’s priced at $500. (But will include the Westfield discount if purchased through us!) It also weighs approximately 28 pounds, and it’s about 12.5” high x 13.5” wide x 8” deep. Yes, it is a box.
What’s in the box, you may be wondering? Well, right now, nothing, since the box probably doesn’t physically exist yet. and it doesn’t exist yet because it doesn’t even ship until November. (Of this year, at least. Hopefully…)
Crisis on infinite Earths Box Set
Here are some people associated with what’s in the box: Marv Wolfman, George Pérez, Gardner Fox, Mike Sekowsky, Roy Thomas, Dick Dillin, Gerry Conway, and (as they say) many others. When the box is actually finished, new artwork will be by Nicola Scott and Jerry Ordway. That picture you see of a box elsewhere on this page is a dummied-up box featuring quite famous but past artwork by Alex Ross (from the crisis absolute Edition). The real box (and its artwork) doesn’t exist yet — but DC has to show you something to get you excited before November.
SO, WHAT’S IN THE BOX?
I thought you’d never ask…
Inside the box are 14 hardcover books which will (hopefully) collect everything that DC has produced over the decades that has something to do with DC’s many Crisis-related projects — including all of the Justice league of America (JLA)/Justice society of America (JSA) annual team-ups from the pages of Justice league of America! For those of you, unlike me, too young to remember, that’s where the “Crisis” title originally came from. The first JLA/JSA crossover, back in 1963, was called “Crisis on Earth-One!/Crisis on Earth-Two!”

If you’ve never bought anything Crisis-related, and want everything all at once, this might be something to ask Santa for. (Considering it won’t be out until the end of the year anyway…) but if you’re like me and have crisis in several different formats — my fave is the absolute Slipcase edition with the Compendium and all its behind-the-scenes secrets… which is most likely long sold out! — it’s a hard decision to make. That’s a lot of moolah for a lot of multiverse!
Whatever you choose… have a happy crisis Christmas!

KC CARLSON: Wondering how many people know that the title of this column is also the name of a popular album from 1975? Here’s a hint: They’re a British band (quite popular in America), and this particular album was the first album that the band recorded in America. then again, since this album is almost 45years old, it’s logical that you might not have heard about it.
