news out of the D23 Expo, Disney’s fan convention, about upcoming Pixar releases:

The good Dinosaur explores what might have happened if dinosaurs never became extinct because the earth was never hit by a giant “cataclysmic” asteroid. Arlo (voiced by Lucas Neff, raising Hope), a 70-foot-tall teenage Apatosaurus, adopts a young human named spot during his quest to restore peace to his tranquil community. It’s due in theaters may 30, 2014. additional voices include bill Hader as Forrest; Judy Greer as Ivy; Neil Patrick Harris as Cliff; John Lithgow as Poppa; and Frances McDormand as Momma.

Accompanying The good Dinosaur in theaters is a new six-minute Monsters university short called “Party Central”. Their Oozma Kappa frat is throwing their first party, but no one shows up, so Mike and Sulley use doors to steal food, music, and fun from another frat party going on at the same time.

In 2015, Pixar will release two movies. The first, inside Out, explores “the world inside the human mind”, specifically, that of 11-year-old Riley, who’s just moved to San Francisco. We meet fear (Bill Hader), sadness (Phyllis Smith, The Office, bad Teacher), joy (Amy Poehler), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), and anger (Lewis Black, ha!). It’s due in theaters June 19, 2015. (I like the color-coding.)

Later that year, the finding Nemo sequel finding Dory appears on November 25, 2015, with the same director, Andrew Stanton. Ellen DeGeneres returns as the voice of Dory, as does Albert Brooks as Marlin. joining them are Diane Keaton as Dory’s mom Jenny; Eugene Levy as Dory’s dad Charlie; and Ty Burrell as Bailey.

On the TV front, there’s a 30-minute Halloween special toy story of TERROR! debuting on ABC on October 16, 2013. When a toy goes missing, the others have to solve the mystery. I hope this still indicates Jesse gets to play a significant role!
